wristwatches. It’s natural to have questions about how our company and
timepieces work. Here are some of the most frequent questions we receive
from our customers before they place an order.    

1. How do you make your wood watches?

How do you make your wood watches? Our watches are handmade, using precision woodworking tools and finishing techniques. Within each watch, we feature a high-quality Japanese movement and components that deliver precise timekeeping and reliability.

We offer a generous 12-month warranty that is more than three times as long as what you get from many wooden watch retailers. In the rare event your watch doesn’t perform to the highest standards during normal use, we’ll replace the timepiece at no extra charge. However, our 12-month warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear or deterioration (Strap/Links/Clasp/Crown)
  • Broken wood watch band links from improper adjustment
  • The life of the battery
  • Scratches to the glass
  • Loss, theft, or damage from abnormal/abusive use, lack of care or negligence
  • Accidents (knocks, dents, cracks, broken links etc.)
  • Incorrect use of the watch
  • Damages caused by a third party (e.g. battery replacement, services, repairs, link removals, alterations or damage caused by the link tool being used incorrectly)

How do I order extra links or replacement parts? 
We sell most replacement parts here, please contact us if you do not find what you are looking for.

Will I have any allergies to my wood watch? Modply watches use only 100 percent natural wood, and we do not use toxic chemicals to treat or protect the wood. We use stainless steel clasps to help those with skin allergies. However, be aware that our stainless steel clasps may contain very small amounts of nickel.
What engraving options do you offer? Modply offers a wide range of custom engraving options, including plain text and some symbols. You may include up to three lines for an engraved message on the back of your watch, with up to 15 characters per line including spaces. Our engraving process takes between two to three business days. Please note that custom engraving voids your ability to return your Modply watch. However, engraved watches are still protected under our 12-month warranty.
Does engraving cost extra? Yes, having a watch engraved costs a small fee. This is because engravings are highly detailed and require extra time to produce. On each individual product page, you can see the price for personalizing a specific watch.
Are your wood watches waterproof? While they're not waterproof, Modply watches are water-resistant, so you can still wear them when washing your hands or performing other non-immersive, water-related activities. Most types of harvested wood don’t react well to water. Also, consistent exposure to water can affect your watch’s finish and cause the wood to warp and degrade over time.
It depends on the watch you order and the delivery location. Some watches may take longer to process than others, and delivery times may vary based on your shipping address. We primarily ship via USPS. Non-engraved watches are typically shipped within two to three business days. Orders of engraved items may take three to four business days to fulfill. We offer free standard USPS shipping that takes two to seven days depending on location. Tracking information also is provided. Shipping to P.O. Box or APO is available. Express shipping options are also available.
Do you ship to P.O. Boxes? Yes, we ship to P.O. Boxes via USPS.

To Canada, delivery times are estimated between six to 10 business days, depending on location. Tracking information is provided.
We also offer shipping to select countries in Europe and Asia. Orders will arrive within 12 to 21 business days, depending on location. Tracking information is provided via email when the item ships.
*Please note that international customers are responsible for any extra duties, taxes, or shipping fees that may be charged by their specific locality. Any orders returned to Modply due to being unclaimed or from a refusal to pay duties may result in extra fees in the refund process.

    Will sales taxes be charged? Sales tax will be assessed on purchases shipped within Michigan.

    What is the return policy for watches?
    We offer a customer-friendly replacement policy. Just contact us to make returns or exchanges within 30 days for unused, unsized, and non-engraved timepieces. For detailed information about returns and canceling orders, please refer to our Shipping & Policies page.
